Thomas M. Goldstein, partner at Paxton Law Group:

focuses his practice on advising businesses on a wide range of matters, including corporate formation and entity selection, protecting trademarks, copyrights and other intellectual property, employment law compliance, developing and implementing social media usage policies, preparing Internet Terms of Use and Privacy Policies, and negotiating and drafting commercial contracts. He has also led a team of more than two dozens lawyers to help develop and build a database of large, merger and acquisitions involving public companies. Tom has counseled numerous startups on business and legal issues and helped connect them to potential customers and strategic partners. He has also served as a judge in the William James Foundation Sustainable Business Plan Competition . His prior legal experience includes working in the Washington, DC office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and serving as Managing Partner of the Washington, DC office of Perry, Krumsiek & Jack LLP. He is a graduate of Yale Law School.

William Paxton, founder of Paxton Law Group:

provides his clients with business-minded legal advice that addresses all facets of business ownership and management.  William advises technology, media, consumer products, energy, cloud, and software ventures of all sizes.  William works with companies from incorporation through IPO and beyond.  He advises clients regarding entity formation, financing, joint ventures, equity distribution, commercial contracts (customer, reseller, distributor, independent contractor, non-disclosure agreements (mutual and unilateral), confidentiality agreements, non-competes, licensing, option agreements, confidential settlement agreements, etc.), regulatory and compliance issues, corporate governance, employment and compensation issues, liquidity events, and other general corporate matters.  William often serves as outside general counsel for clients and he regularly performs comprehensive strategic legal analyses of business practices and strategic goals to ensure compliance with the law and to identify cost savings and business opportunities.   William also counsels clients on corporate finance matters, strategic growth, venture capital, angel investing, growth equity, and licensing with a focus on growth-oriented companies. William began his legal career in the Washington, DC office of Mayer Brown and also served as General Counsel at Informa, PLC, before founding Paxton Law Group. He has a law degree from Duke University.

Chris Herndon

Chris has more than 25 years of experience in information technology and engineering as Chief Technologist, Senior technology leader, systems engineer and communicator. An early pioneer in network and communications technologies with a focus on wireless techniques led him to develop converged network architectures long before the industry adopted net-centricity and Everything over IP. His twenty year tenure in the Department of Defense allowed him to develop a broad engineering background across the telecommunications industries with expertise in technology strategy and insertion, network engineering, data transmission, cyber security, information assurance, wireless, satellite, data systems planning, emergency management, project management, advanced network design-deployment-optimization, systems interoperability and operations. Chris engages customers to collaboratively define IT strategy and technology roadmaps in response to changing enterprise needs, changes in regulatory, compliance and policy requirements, and building productive teams in stove-piped environments. He works to ensure shared ownership and vision for technology roadmaps across internal and external stakeholders, technology teams, operational support teams, and strategic vendors. With the ever growing and changing cyber threats facing US interests, Chris spends the majority of his time supporting cyber needs of our clients and our enterprise. Awareness of state of the art defense and exploitative technologies is critical in building and defending our critical infrastructures with updated methods of protection of critical or sensitive data and pre-patent or intellectual property. In one of his many roles as a consultant to numerous industries, academia and government agencies, he facilitates cyber security information sharing, common policy development, collaboration and outreach among the White House, Intelligence Community, Department of Defense and the Private Sector.

Angela Hausman, PhD

Angela Hausman owns Hausman and Associates, a full service firm operating at the intersection of marketing and social media, runs Social/ IS Policy, which creates policies to protect your digital peace of mind, and is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Howard University, where she teaches Social Media Marketing. Dr. Hausman holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.  She wrote several books on internet marketing and is currently completing a book on Social Media Marketing and Branding.  She has published over 100 articles in scholarly journals and international conferences and speaks at numerous scholarly and business events.

Dr. Hausman also consults with major corporations and mid-sized businesses. Previous clients include the USO, Cincomm, Xerox, Fisher Scientific, and ITT Financial.  Angela lives in the metro DC area with her 3 kids and grandson.
